    Position summary

    The Deposit Account Administrator is responsible for a portfolio of deposits and will be following deposit guidelines and protocols in accordance with AML regulations. The successful candidate will administer the daily posting of deposits, generate confirmations, and follow data quality control measures to ensure accuracy. This work will involve daily communication with clients, agents, and brokers by phone or email to answer questions and resolve any issues.   

    Reporting to the Director, Banking Operations, the Deposit Account Administrator will be an integral team member of the Operations team and WealthONE by making a strong impact on a growing and fast-paced business.

    Key responsibilities

    • Provide exceptional client service with the processing of GIC applications received by reconciling the attached deposit slips and cheques with the bank, processing according to the date of deposit, and ensuring accurate processing into the banking system
    • Ensure that GICs are processed accurately and AML requirements are met
    • Follow AML procedures on all files with an emphasis on KYC rules and comply with company policies regarding the privacy of client information
    • Complete all daily processes timely and efficiently e.g. required management signatures and approvals
    • Proactively identify actual and potential violations of AML regulatory requirements, internal policies, and procedures, or other AML/ATF risk situations at an early stage
    • Report and escalate issues to the Manager
    • Handle incoming and outgoing communication and inquiries from clients and brokers
    • Make an impact by getting things done, focusing on what matters, owning, and delivering superior results for all stakeholders in both the short and long-term

    Candidate Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Experience):

    • Diploma or degree with the following area/areas of training: AML, Banking, Deposit Administration
    • Minimum of 3 years experience as an administrator or analyst role, preferably within the retail banking industry
    • Knowledge of financial regulatory requirements on deposit products, AML, and Compliance are an asset
    • Strong customer service, interpersonal relationship building, and listening skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong organizational, time-management, and attention to detail
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-driven working environment
    • Solution-focused and takes initiative to work effectively within established guidelines
    • Self-motivated and works effectively within a team and independently
